Smartmouth VB Pilot house
Smartmouth grew beyond being a Norfolk brewery and into a multi-city brewery when it opened the doors to the Pilot House in Virginia Beach. The names pays tribute to local area culture and plays off the term "pilot batch," which is a term used for small trial batches of beer. The Seapines Station Post Office Building was fully renovated to include a large tasting room that can be divided for private events, a small batch 10 barrely "pilot" brewery space, and a large outdoor patio on the post office loading dock.
This project was collaboratively designed and led by Jeremy S Maloney while with Work Program Architects.
